q. What does a homeopathic consultation involve?
Talking, mostly! A homeopathic consultation is an in-depth conversation about what has led you to seek homeopathic treatment and includes, but is not limited to, a full case-taking of your health history, your characteristics and traits and any relevant family history. Some of the questions might seem a bit unusual in comparison with conventional medicine but the purpose and relevance of them will become evident as your treatment progresses. The concept of homeopathic prescribing and directions for taking any remedies will be clearly explained, with ample opportunity to ask any questions you may have. You should expect an initial consultation to take up to two hours, and a follow-up approximately 45 minutes to an hour.
q. What happens after a consultation?
You will be prescribed a remedy or remedies either during or shortly after the consultation. Sometimes it is necessary to undertake further analysis before making a remedy selection. You will be given or sent the remedy with instructions on how to take it and what to expect. I recommended keeping a diary of any changes or differences you notice in the days and weeks following the remedy, in preparation for your follow-up appointment. I maintain contact with my patients between appointments; and I am available to answer any queries or concerns you may have during the intervening period.
