Consultations

Consultations can take place in person or via Zoom. Your initial consultation will be 2 hours long and follow-ups are 1 hour. The number of follow-ups you may require can depend upon the depth and complexity of your health issue. You will see the same person at all of your consultations so there will be a continuity of care which is so important, particularly for chronic or complex health conditions.

What happens during a Homeopathic Consultation?

Talking.. mostly! The consultation is an opportunity for you to tell me about your health and everything that has led you to seek homeopathic treatment. Please don’t worry, I know it can be difficult to remember everything that is pertinent to your case in one appointment; follow-ups are important for that reason; not only can the consultation prompt the recollection of other useful information, often your health picture will evolve as your treatment gets underway and a different symptom picture can emerge. Any information that you can provide me with prior to or during our consultation with regard to recent or ongoing medical investigations, symptom diaries, or notes is always very helpful and I encourage you to bring those along or have them to hand.

Support between consultations

Homeopathic treatment is unlike conventional medical treatment in that I offer ongoing support between consultations. This routinely takes the form of email communication. I will always endeavour to respond to your email within 24 hours, but there may be circumstances in which we have an agreement that requires more immediate support in the initial stages of your treatment in which I may offer support via phone, text or Whatsapp. My availability is limited to daytime hours 9.00am to 6.30pm weekdays but again, there may be exceptions to this if your treatment or condition necessitates more immediate support. Please note, I am not an emergency or 24hour service, but I can provide you with details of a homeopathic pharmacy that does provide this support, should it be required.

Remedies

Remedies are prescribed on an individual basis and may change over the course of treatment. Standard courses of treatment are included in the consultation/follow-up fee, but if a specialised course of treatment is required, there may be an additional charge.

How quickly will I start to feel better?

It is very difficult to provide a definitive answer to this question. It can depend upon a number of factors such as the length of time you have been unwell and the depth and complexity of your illness or ill health. What you can expect from your treatment should be a gradual and perceivable improvement in your health, energy and vitality. Often symptoms slip away unnoticed until we review your progress at a follow-up and discover they are no longer there! Whilst improvement or recovery is not linear, you should be able to perceive continuous positive change. I always advise patients that the first consultation in particular can be quite tiring which can be unexpected if you are unprepared. However, lots of patients also report that they find it uplifting and energising, particularly as you begin to improve.
